About the farm:

Schiltenhof farm is situated in the small fishing village of Iseltwald, directly on the Swiss cycle route and the path of St. James. You can reach us from every direction with ease - be it on foot, by bicycle, paraglider, car, bus or boat.
On hot days, the clean waters of Lake Brienz are a delightful way to cool down. The lake is just 3 minutes walk away.
Our recreation and breakfast room offers the ideal atmosphere for cosy get-togethers in the evening.

The alp:
Around mid June the cows and heifers are driven up on to the Bättenalp. We form a cooperative together with the farming families Abegglen and von Bergen. The roughly 40 cows and 120 heifers are cared for by our two dairymen. The milk is used to produce Berner alpine cheese, Mutschli, Ziger and butter. After around 100 days the livestock returns to the valley.
